SAYVILLE, SPICE, AND EVERYTHING NICE
|
We are Matthew and Lauri LaPiana, and in our family, cooking and eating together has always been at the core of our most special memories. As independent business owners in architecture and stenography, respectively, we understand the profound importance of making time as a family. Sayville N Spice is our realization of the time we always carve out for ourselves and we want to encourage others to do the same. A thoughtfully curated selection of spices, hot sauces, craft ingredients, and culinary-inspired gifts, Sayville N Spice celebrates the oldest form of expressing culture and history - cooking and sharing meals. Paying homage to its Long Island roots, Sayville N Spice products are inspired by the deep agricultural history that, thanks to hard-fought perseverance, has resulted in the island’s farms and markets touting ingredients in their purest form. Housed inside the historic former Thornhill’s Pharmacy on Main Street, Sayville N Spice is one ingredient in the growing craft and specialty food scene of the area.
It is part of our vision to complement our neighboring specialty shops on Main Street, pay homage to our Long Island roots by offering products inspired by our deep agricultural history, and operate an ethical, eco-friendly business. From our product collection to the design of the store to our shipping choices, we support small and local North American producers, repurpose materials, and limit our waste and environmental impact. Whether you're a novice or seasoned chef, we hope you'll find inspiration and discover new and exciting flavors at Sayville N Spice. |
WE ARE ESPECIALLY PROUD OF OUR LONG ISLAND ROOTS
Long Island has an amazing history of farming and is still home to hundreds of farms, farm stands, and farmers markets. Through our explorations and by sharing our experiences, we can all relish in what our beautiful and bountiful island has to offer. To further share our love of all things local, we've created a map of Long Island Farm Stands and Markets just for you; and because we like to keep our friends close, and our farmers closer.
"Shipping is a terrible thing to do to vegetables. They probably get jet-lagged, just like people."
